Denim: Right vs. Wrong
Yes, believe it or not you can go very wrong with denim, but not to worry, your Savile Row Society style wingman is here to help you go right with your denim choices.
Its rather easy to know the do's and don'ts of denim wear, but sometimes a little help is definitely needed, the ever changing trends of the fashion world sometimes leave everybody wondering if they have stepped into a time capsule, making something outdated and trendy at one point trendy again. However, when it comes to styling and being comfortable it always best to stay away from trends and go with items one finds to be pleasant.

Here are are a couple denim styles that every man should be holding at least one pair of.
Stone Washed Denim

A pair of straight legged, lightly washed jeans should be a staple in every man's wardrobe. It is the most reliable and long last denim. What it lacks in distinctiveness and originality it more than makes up in durability and traditional style. Pair it with a white t shirt, a button down and shoes or sneakers, either way its versatility is obvious as soon as you put it on.
Selvedge Denim

Something for the more "fashion" conscious man, it's the new type of denim that has taken a stance and doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon. Selvedge or Raw denim is considerable thicker and stiffer than an ordinary pair of jeans, which may not make it great for outdoors in July, but the awesome aspect of selvedge denim is it will always be YOURS. The heavy saturated fabric eventually becomes molded to its original owner. So after about seven or eight regular wear you will have a pair of jeans cut and molded to your bum. Pair it with a custom - made shirt, for a dressed up look or even with a T-shirt for a relaxed dressed look.
Waxed Denim

Honestly this is a rock star of denim, when you reallywant to make a statement, go for a pair of waxed denim. A wax coating treatment adds a subtle, jet-black finish to denim, retaining the classic appeal of a good pair of jeans but invigorating it with something more striking, giving it a more polished and dapper look. Pair it with white shirt and biker jacket, feel free to go with either boots or shoes, either way you'll look great.
Now for the wrong, in life there will always be a wrong and right. In terms of denim, there are a couple styles that should stay in the back of your closet or use a closet audit to get rid of them.
Here are a couple that should be banned from all men's wardrobe.
Patchwork/Destoryed Denim

Yes, this was a hot fashion trend and believe or not, some of you guys have these in your closet and try to break them out. It may of been a great trend, but it's best left to the 18-25 year olds and that's debatable. They are fun and quirky but doesn't make for a great option in outfitting one's self.
Acid-Wash Denim

Some things are really meant to stay in the pass. For instance acid wash jeans, another relic from a gone decade that wasn't that good looking then either. If you need more tips on what and how to wear, sign tip with shoot our style team an email and we'll take care of the rest!
